So, skyenapped responded to my post earlier and had a really brilliant suggestion, and I've totally embraced it :) Her idea was that maybe we could do a retro week for Third Watch, and for a week we use a default userpic relating to Third Watch.

I LOVE THAT IDEA!!

And, so, I went ahead and snurched some caps from a YT fanvid and, hey presto, new 55-David userpic :)

Oh I do miss thee, my beautiful, angsty, ship.

Had to figure out a problem I was having capping a video file with VC-1 (codec) in wmv container – it was all pixelated in VirtualDub. Solution: use gdsmux (comes with Haali) to remux to mkv. Might work for other codecs than VC-1 too. Added this tip to the tutorial page.
